My mother was an Australian and my father a New Zealander - which gives me a foot in both countries. But I want an international symbol that represents New Zealand as a single sovereign state. I want a flag that doesn't confuse - a flag that my grandchildren can wave in the confident knowledge that the world knows them for who they are and for what they proudly represent. Let's inform the public and have a referendum that will, like our flag, represent our people.
